Peer Bode final Open Screenings

Since his first semester in 1987 at NYSCC Alfred University,  IEA Co-founder and former Co-Director, Peer Bode has been continuously hosting Open Screening. Open Screening is an open to the public, inclusive platform for the love of video and moving-image. Any and all are welcomed to bring a video to screen and share.

This community-sourced art event is a point of pride for the Video Arts area. Thanks to Peer Bode’s dedication and moxie in sustaining Open Screening for 32 years, many artists and arts programmers have been informed by and then expanded this open format within their arts communities.  For the last decade, Open Screening has also included the New Media Potluck, founded by Sondra Perry (BFA 2010). So many of the excellent students who studied video arts with Peer have had their public exhibition careers begin at Open Screening. What a run!
