Mary Ann Strandell received a BFA cum laude from The University of South Dakota; her MA and MFA from the University of New Mexico; and two Intern-Fellowships: Tamarind Institute, NM and The W.H. Over Museum, SD. She is a recipient of an NEA Fellowship Award in Painting: a Mid Atlantic Fellowship in Painting; Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Grant; Humanities Council Grant; residencies at Art Omi, Byrdcliffe, and the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art. She has exhibited widely in the United States and abroad, including a two person show at Panorama Art, Cologne Germany.
