October 4, 2025

On Friday October 4, 2024 the IEA supported a special visit from @tinariversryan , the editor of @artforum , with the facilitation and support of @jpjameshansen

Tina was given a tour of the IEA studios and Expanded Media spaces, followed by a special lecture in Holmes Auditorium.

During her tour she viewed prints from the IEA Archive which featured prints by Artists such as Gary Hill, Dave Jones and Woody Vasulka. These prints featured imagery originating from Analog Video processes such as the Rutt/Etra and the Sandin Image Processor.

Tina’s lecture was based around her recently curated show at the @buffaloakgartmuseum titled Electric Op:

Artforum Editor and former Buffalo AKG curator Tina Rivers Ryan will present a special quest lecture on “Electric Op,” the first major exhibition (curated by Rivers Ryan) to examine how the Op art of the 1960s and 1970s related to not only industrial machinery, but also the new electronic media of the dawning post-industrial era. The exhibition opens at Buffalo AKG on September 27, 2024 and runs to January 27, 2025.
