Northeast China Normal University Printshop visit

Changchun Normal University Printshop Visit December 20, 2019

IEA Co-Director Joseph Scheer was invited to Changchun Normal University to give a lecture about IEA’s Xuan Paper Project. The talk’s title was “Printing on Xuan Paper with New Print Media Technologies”. Joseph Scheer and IEA China Liaison, Aodi Liang, were hosted by Professor of Design Li Li.

While there we toured their new printmaking facilities which they are in the process of setting up in an old factory building. The studios are quite impressive with over 14 new large presses and a digital print facility. A highlight of the visit was a spirited extended discussion on the future of Print Media as well as how we could collaborate more in the future. Printmaking is alive and well in China!
