Stull Observatory

at Alfred University

Welcome to the John L. Stull Observatory at Alfred University! The observatory is run by the Physics and Astronomy Division of the College of Arts and Sciences. Our facilities are regularly used by students for classes, public outreach, research, and fun. Astronomy has a long history at Alfred, starting with the university’s founding in 1836. What you see today is the result of a major expansion in the 1960’s. We boast 6 telescopes in domes and an assortment of other equipment. We have computer controlled telescopes, digital cameras, and a brand new fiber fed spectrograph. You can find out more about us in the navigation menu!
