Fiat Perseverance and Connectivity
Thank you for all that you have been doing to move to the “new normal” of social distancing, enhanced attention to personal hygiene, online learning, and telework in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. You are doing Alfred University proud through your resilience, dedication, and creativity.
To help you through this (hopefully) brief intermission from normalcy, we wanted to share this “Saxon Strong” video that reflects the beauty of our campus and the indomitable spirit of our students, faculty, and staff. The manner in which you have quickly shifted to an online learning model for the remainder of the Spring semester, for example, has been nothing short of remarkable.
We dearly miss the energy of our students on campus and are pained by the postponed/canceled in-person opportunities to build community and celebrate the accomplishments of our students, faculty, and staff through events such as our Senior Art Shows, Career Fairs, Leadership Dinners, Honors Convocation, Hot Dog Day, Midnight Breakfast, and Commencement.
As we continue to build our virtual connections during this difficult COVID-19 time, we also look forward to when we once again have the opportunity to reestablish the highly personalized immersive learning model that has been at the heart of Alfred University’s ability to transform student lives and thereby better our world for the past nearly two centuries.
Fiat perseverance and connectivity!
Mark
