May He Live to 120
Yesterday, in an outside of ordinary ceremony, our University bestowed an honorary Doctor of Science degree upon Terry S. Galanis, Sr. ’40, at Sealing Devices, Inc., the company he founded in Lancaster, New York. Typically, we award such degrees at Commencement in May, but in deference to Terry’s relative youth—a spry 101—we decided to take the show on the road.
I hope you enjoy the ceremony as much as we did. Terry, Sr., is an amazing example of many Alfred University alumni—resilient in the face of adversity, dedicated to family and friends, and a generous and appreciative donor to Alfred University.
