Opening on January 20, 2014 at 8:00 pm, <a href=\"http:\/\/roulette.org\/events\/brett-sroka-sine-qua-non\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Sine Qua Non<\/em><\/a> (which translates to &#8220;without which there is nothing) is part live performance and part multi-channel sound installation, as the music Brett and his collaborator Carl Maguire will be performing is sampled, processed, and played back live in the space by the Max\/MSP patch Brett developed at the iea during his residency in <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.alfred.edu\/iea\/2013\/02\/11\/artists-in-residence-brett-sroka\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">February, 2013<\/a>.
