I played with some alternative setups for capture that I’m planning to integrate into future work processes. I was also able to make progress on the soundtracks for these pieces using the GRM Tool Suite in the Expanded Media studio to build on existing work and generate new iterations. I also used my time in the studio to plan, storyboard and begin the editing process. My time at the iea has been incredibly generative for these projects.

Thanks to the generous and deeply knowledgeable guidance of Myles, I was also able to experiment and play with digitally printed stills from existing video work. I previously had very little experience in print, and feel so grateful for this opportunity to grow a new branch of my practice. I was given the freedom to print a range of formats on a variety of different paper types. I produced a run of vellum and large format prints that I’m planning to incorporate into future installation work. Several of these prints will be added to the iea collection. I also produced a limited run of postcards that I’m excited to put to use! This was such a productive and inspiring experience.”

Watch ariella’s artist talk here.

[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”2″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”89257″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]ariella in the iea studios working on digitally printed processed imagery.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image media=”89258″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Expanded Media’s Professor, Andrew Deutsch, assisting ariella with the historic Sandin.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image media=”89260″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]ariella video image processing in the Expanded Media video studio.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”89259″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Editioning of ariella’s digital print, titled Watching You, Watching Me.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”89265″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Watching You, Watching Me
Digital Print
44 x 30 in
Coventry Rag 290gsm[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”89266″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Digitally printed postcards.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image media=”89262″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Go Deep
Digital Print
16.5 x 20 in
Kitakata 30gsm[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image media=”89263″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Vanessa Brooks 1
Digital Print
16 x22 in
Coventry Rag 290gsm[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image media=”89261″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]Vanessa Brooks 1
Digital Print
16 x22 in
Coventry Rag 290gsm[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]On April 26 @ariellatai completed their residency with us. ariella tai (b. 1987 queens, nyc) is an experimental filmmaker, artist and […]

[2,122
