Brooklyn-based artist Nancy Blum is known for her large-scale botanical artworks that blend history with innovation. Drawing inspiration from 16th and 17th-century botanical illustrations, Blum reimagines these timeless images through her unique lens, combining species that would never naturally coexist. Her works challenge conventional views of nature, presenting flowers not as delicate, but as powerful, forceful agents of growth and continuity.<\/p>\n
Blum has made her mark through public art commissions, including her large-scale mosaics for New York City\u2019s MTA Arts in Transit program and monumental glass windows at San Francisco General Hospital.
