Dear families,
What an incredible Homecoming and Family Weekend at Alfred University this year! To the more than 400 family members who traveled from near and far to visit with their Alfred student, thank you for sharing a perfect fall weekend with us. From October 1 – 3, campus was bursting with family, friends and alumni enjoying all that makes Alfred unique.
The weekend kicked off with our second annual Mentorship Day, where more than 25 alumni volunteers connected with over 250 current students—building relationships and creating new opportunities. There truly was something for everyone! Highlights included eight athletic competitions, fun-filled events like Bubble Day, Stuff a Plushie, and a fantastic performance by comedian and balloon artist John Cassidy. A particularly special moment came when our beloved Davis Memorial Carillon rang out once again. Closed since 2020 due to structural concerns, its return was a beautiful and moving experience—especially for students hearing the bells for the first time.

Thank you for sharing your weekend—and, more importantly, your student—with us.
Warmly,
Erin
