Welcome from Thomas Orrange, Dean of Student Experience

Thomas Orrange, Dean of Student Experience

Welcome families and friends,

On behalf of the Student Experience team here at Alfred University, I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all our students’ families and friends.  As we begin another academic year here on our beautiful campus, we see the promise in the optimism and enthusiasm of our new and returning students.

Here at Alfred University, we are committed to helping your student realize their purpose. This happens both inside and outside of the classroom, encompassing all aspects of their lives. Our goal is to create a positive and enriching student experience by creating valuable intersections and opportunities for mentorship and engagement. The student experience team understands that a well-rounded university experience and academic success begins in the residence halls, the dining halls, on the athletic fields, through involvement in clubs and organizations, with the support of the wellness center, and with their safety and overall wellbeing.  Encourage your student to get involved and be a part of the Alfred University community.

The Student Experience team seeks to build a partnership with family and friends by asking for them to support their students in the journey of academic and personal growth and development. Your student needs to build independence, resilience, and a growth mindset.  There will be challenges along the way, and we ask that you encourage your student to learn and grow from them, to face the obstacle and become better for the challenge.

Welcome to a new and exciting 2023-2024 academic year.  I am committed to supporting your student and building partnerships with families and friends as these students walk the path to success.  I see the promise of opportunity in each face as I wander the campus and know that they will do great things here at Alfred University and in the future.

Fiat Lux,

Thomas Orrange

Dean for Student Experience

  1. Dear Thomas,
My name is Dr. Mrs Nse-Obong Undie, mother of Unimashe Undieh. We were in the school in August but we had to come back to Nigeria for Ashe’s visa interview.
We will be back there in January 2024. We look forward to the trip. I pray Ashe will enjoy his stay in your school.
    Cheers.
    Nse-Obong
