Center for Advising

With the end of the fall semester quickly approaching, it is time for students to start thinking about their spring 2025 class schedules. The week of October 28 was the start of spring advisement, which is when students meet with their faculty advisor or Academic Success Coach to discuss progress in their current fall classes, determine the right classes for their spring semester, learn how to register for those courses through BannerWeb, and obtain the alternate pin they need to complete their spring registration.

Students in the School of Art & Design or the School of Engineering meet with their Success Coach for advisement.  First-year students in the College of Business, the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, or the Performing Arts Division meet with their faculty advisors.  All students should have received an email from their faculty advisor or their success coach about scheduling an advising meeting.  Registration opens based on class standing. Most first-year students are at freshman standing (0-29 completed credit hours), which means registration opened for them on Tuesday, November 12 at 8am.

If your student has not registered for the spring semester yet, or they have questions or concerns about the registration process, please direct them to the Center for Advising.  Students can contact the Center for Advising at advising@alfred.edu , at (607) 871-2949, or they can drop in. The Center for Advising is located on the first floor of the Powell Campus Center.
