Along with  adjunct instructor of drawing and painting <a href=\"https:\/\/hopezaccagni.com\/home.html\">Hope Zaccagni,<\/a> and many others around the world. The show opens today September 1st, 2020, you can see the exhibition here <a href=\"http:\/\/acogedor.space\/gallery\/\">http:\/\/acogedor.space\/gallery\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When hearing the word \u201chome\u201d we often think of the place where we reside. When the \u201cShelter-At-Home\u201d orders came in throughout the country and world, many of us found ourselves adapting to a new way of living where we did pretty much everything (i.e. sleeping, working, eating,  pooping, loving\u2026)&nbsp; from a single place\u2013\u2013for some, a single room. The home became a place of both respite and stress, leaving us with the necessity to find new ways to <strong><em>be<\/em><\/strong> at home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1366\" height=\"1366\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.alfred.edu\/expandedmedia\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2020\/09\/home.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1758\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested in exploring the shifting nature of home, Acogedor invited submissions from artists worldwide across mediums\u2013\u2013artists who identify as BIPOC or from historically marginalized backgrounds were especially encouraged to apply. The exhibition is the first for Acogedor, which had previously only hosted intimate events, and it serves as a launching pad for more activities online\u2013\u2013shifting from inviting people into her home (artist Nicole  Rademacher) to bringing art and conversation to your homes via the internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All of the work in the exhibition has been created during quarantine (since March 16, 2020). Each artist examined their relationship to their abode as well as the social isolation that ensued with being confined to their residences.
