Since 1995, Presidents Clinton, Bush and Obama have issued a series of annual proclamations designating the month of March as Women\u2019s History Month.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.alfred.edu\/aulibrarynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/03\/img_7365.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1084 \" style=\"margin-left:15px\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.alfred.edu\/aulibrarynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/03\/img_7365.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"New York Women\" width=\"188\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nDuring the spring semester, students in Professor Eaklor&#8217;s class prepared group presentations on the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The history of campus violence and related laws in New York State<\/li>\n<li>The contribution of women to New York State\u2019s cultural history<\/li>\n<li>The history of reproductive rights in New York State<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some of the books that the students consulted are included in the display case in Herrick&#8217;s main entrance. The student presentations are on display on the main floor of Herrick Library, near the computer lab.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.alfred.edu\/aulibrarynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/03\/img_7372.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1087 \" style=\"margin-right:15px\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.alfred.edu\/aulibrarynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2015\/03\/img_7372.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"student display\" width=\"173\" height=\"231\" \/><\/a>Women in Society, an interdisciplinary course, is the foundation of Alfred University\u2019s <a title=\"Women's and Gender Studies Program\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alfred.edu\/wmst\/\">Women&#8217;s and Gender Studies Program<\/a>. It examines the relationship of women worldwide to institutions and developments in the social, political, and economic spheres.
